Employers’ fraud cost the workers’ compensation system more than the any fraud committed by injured workers ever could.  Simply look at one aspect of fraud in the system: misclassification of payroll.

ProPublica and NPR released a critical and devastating critique of the systematic gutting that the workers compensation system that has taken place over the last 20 years, with a particular focus on the reduction of benefits in California that has taken place courtesy of the decision-makers in Sacramento.

Under California Labor Code Law related to Workers Compensation cases, only a physician is allowed to deny medical treatment.

Many things can go wrong with this scheme, and many things are continuing to go wrong with it.
